If you’ve ever needed proof that you don’t need a long guest list to have a beautiful, meaningful wedding—this is it. A&Y chose to surround themselves with just 20 of the most important people in their lives to witness them tie the knot. The day felt intimate, intentional, and effortlessly seamless from start to finish. Both A and Y got ready in separate rooms at the Malcolm Hotel in Canmore. The rooms were spacious and filled with beautiful natural light, making them the perfect setting for those quiet, getting-ready moments.
Before the ceremony, A&Y decided to share a first look—just the two of them. We headed to nearby Policeman’s Creek, where July’s unusually rainy weather had transformed the landscape into something extra magical. The greenery was lush, vibrant, and fresh, creating a stunning backdrop for such an emotional moment. After a few happy tears, we made our way back to the hotel for their rooftop ceremony.
Their intimate Canmore wedding ceremony at the Malcolm Hotel was officiated by the wonderful Cole from Married by Cole. Cole has a true gift for storytelling—his ceremony felt deeply personal, heartfelt, and sprinkled with just the right amount of humour. Maren from Bow Valley Weddings coordinated the day flawlessly, ensuring everything ran smoothly and allowing the couple to stay fully present and stress-free.

Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed drinks on the patio, heartfelt speeches, and group photos. There was plenty of time for hugs, congratulations, and capturing memories together before everyone moved inside for supper at Stirling Dining Room & Lounge, located right at the hotel.
After dinner, we snuck away with the newlyweds for an hour of sunset portraits at Rundle Forebay Reservoir. It was a peaceful, calm evening after a dramatic rainstorm—the rain cleared and the skies opened up just in time. Surrounded by Canmore’s majestic mountains, it was the perfect way to end such a meaningful day. ~Mike and Naty
